Sample Mentor Sites

Add to this post whenever you come upon a website that serves this process. Simply copy & past the url and then add your comments to this blog page. There’s also a downloadable pdf of the checklist.

Alternatively, you can send your suggestions to me: meg@thoughtandpossibility.com. If you email, please put MENTOR SITES in the subject line.

I’ve started us off with three sample sites and will continue to add to this page. Take your time with this exercise. We’ll give you notice in about two weeks that we’re wrapping up.

  • http://trueprosperity.org/ (NOTE: Site is currently timing out.)
For feel & photographs: everything that contributes to the feel of this site-—the images and stories implied by them, the use of white space & type including the large quote.
Shortly after I interviewed Diana Fosha in November, she mentioned this site. It’s very plain, but does a good job of incorporating video and quick newsletter sign-up above the fold.
This site is very impressive for taking a huge amount of info and organizing it in an inviting accessible way. It’s easy to move around and I never feel like I’ve been promised one thing (by the navigation) and receive another.

Well, I happen to think your site, http://www.thoughtandpossibility.com, is a great one! I like the design, mood, choice of images, and ease of navigation.

Also, I think the “online learning” aspect of this website is impressive: http://behavioraltech.org/ol/

I comment link below was broken so I’m posting my thoughts here.

Here are three that I suggest.

I like the colours. The site is clean and appealing, easy to navigate with a good shopping cart.

I like all the space, it’s relaxing. just a few photos worked for me, easy to navigate, I felt like I could find whatever I wanted to. It’s logical.

What an unusual colour! I didn’t like the little photos at the top. But the ease of navigation, organization and something about it pulled me in.
